Extracts steam
September 1st 2003

Wisbech-based Greenvale Foods has installed extraction equipment made by the air services division of Carter Environmental Engineers to remove starch and product-laden steam from the production area of its newly upgraded potato processing plant. The system was designed and installed by Environmental Engineering UK, including fanset, ductwork and noise attenuation. The Carter-Midac Cyclovent combines multi-stage cleaning in a single unit and is said to typically require 25% less energy for the same efficiency than conventional single-stage venturi scrubbers. Alternatively, it is said to achieve greater collection efficiency than a conventional unit operating at the same pressure loss.
