RPE Range enhanced
March 1st 2007

Scott Health & Safety's Phantom power assisted respirator is used by many operatives when removing asbestos. With decontamination showering becoming more frequent and intense, equipment is being exposed to ever higher ambient levels of humidity in moisture laden air.

As a result, Scott has made improvements to the PPR/Batt/Alarm to ensure reliability and full shift operation while continuing to provide long service life.

The battery pack has been modified to further boost its resistance to water vapour. Improvements include the introduction of a silicone string seal between the case neck parts before they are ultrasonically welded. The circuit board and other key components are coated to protect them from moisture laden air.

Phantom, PowerPak and ProflowSC Asbestos power-assisted respirator kits are now supplied in packaging that is designed to be retained by the owner. It includes a large re-useable outer box for the entire kit plus associated items of PPR, and smaller inner box to hold the cleaned facemask.
