Coating on gloves helps to keep hands dry
January 1st 2006

Ansell Moisture Management Technology has been incorporated into an ultra-thin 0.025mm polymer composite coating for gloves that is said to absorb up to four times more moisture than standard cotton-flock gloves.

Aquadri Technology enables workers to keep their hands drier for longer periods, increasing their comfort. Ansell says that internal tests showed that, when the coating is used, the perspiration saturation point is reached 60% more slowly than with traditional cotton flock-lined gloves.

Gloves with the coating are said to have a lower tendency to shed, and can be washed up to three times without loss of the moisture absorbing qualities.

The first Ansell glove to include the moisture control system is the Virtex lightweight industrial glove. It is designed to be both comfortable to wear for extended periods and to provide an effective barrier against hydrocarbon-based chemicals, oils and greases.

A particularly polyvalent glove, it is intended for handling and light assembly tasks in, for example, the chemical, metal fabrication and automotive industries.
