Complying with today's stringent safety requirements for fork lift truck chains can be a headache for health and safety representatives.

A quick and easy-to-use solution is available from Chaintec, supplier of off-the-shelf and specialist chain to the FLT replacement market.

The company has developed a chain wear gauge that enables health and safety representatives to monitor wear rates, co-ordinate replacement schedules and be alerted to potential safety concerns before they arise.

The gauge measures more than 10 pitches and works with chains supplied by the company and by other manufacturers. It accurately measures 2 and 3% wear on chain sizes from 1/ 2 to 21/ 2in pitch.
