New fork lift combines safety with productivity
March 1st 2008

Combining Toyota Material Handling's System of Active Stability (SAS), operator presence sensing and enhanced operator visibility, the new Tonero engine-powered forklift is said to bring new levels of safety without compromising on productivity.

SAS actively works with the driver to keep the truck stable and operating within safe parameters and the company says that there have been no fatalities from lateral tip-overs in trucks protected by the system, despite a combined operating time of more than 400 million hours.

The instrument panel of the new truck and its overhead guard have been redesigned to give the operator a clear view when the forks are at ground level, lorry bed height and at maximum height.

For busy environments, customers can opt for an additional safety technology package: the Tonero Safety+ formula offers an advanced travel control system with a load weight indicator and speed limiter to ensure that drivers stay within site driving speeds.
