Free: angle indicator to improve ladder safety

To encourage the safe use of ladders, mp-Innovent is offering a free Angle Indicator safety device with sales of or enquiries about its specialist ladder safety equipment.

The device clearly shows whether the ladder is at the optimum 1:4 ratio to minimise slippage, and the company says the stability of the ladder can be dramatically increased by using products such as the Ladder-Spur, Anchor-Fix and Fold-Flat Stand-Off.

Ladder-Spurs have been designed to dramatically improve safety when working at height. By widening the base, they increase the top-stability of the ladder, which reduces the chance of slip. There is no need for footing and each spur can be independently positioned so the ladder can be used on uneven ground.

Anchor-Fix secures ladders in an upright position on sloping ground and helps improve top-stability by widening the ladder base to 980mm. It allows ladders to be used safely on soft ground or surfaces sloping up to 15°, takes 2min to fit and just seconds to remove.

The design of the Fold-Flat Stand-Off device is said to improve ladder top stability when working in awkward locations such as over drainpipes or on corners and will fold in half so that it is easier to transport or store.
