Fume filter September 1st 2005 Air Science Technologies has installed a specially developed dye staining bench for Merseyside Police’s Fingerprint Lab.
The 3.5m wide bench has a polypropylene sink and a storage tank that contains ethanol-based dyes. The unit’s main function is to provide effective air containment, minimising the release of chemical fumes into the lab. It has a selfcontained air filtration unit that did not need installation of air extraction systems or ducting.
Air is drawn into the unit from front to back, over the sink, then vented through an advanced air filtration system that removes airborne chemicals and particulate.
The workbench, tailored to the dimensions of the room, has a continuous air velocity monitoring system, audible and visual filter alarms and integral test port that enables manual filter monitoring. |
