November 1st 2003 On the advice of St. John Ambulance, Marylebone Cricket Club has equipped Lords Cricket Ground with two Laerdal Heartstart defibrillators.
Stephen Parris, estates manager, explains We took advice from St. John Ambulance on which defibrillators to purchase and a number of staff have been trained by St. John to use them. The training was very straightforward and the Heartstarts are simple to use. Our first responders are confident that, should the situation arise, we will be able to deal with it effectively within the crucial two to three min window for the optimum chance of survival.
Heartstart defibrillators take the operator through every step of treatment with clear audible and visual instructions, from removing clothing to monitoring the heart after treatment. More articles from Laerdal Medical Ltd: |
