Second reel mover installed
November 1st 2003

St. Regis Paper Company has taken delivery of its second Nu-Star Power Pusher at its Watchet, Somerset site. It will be used to push reels of recycled envelope paper and coreboard. The Power Pusher is a pedestrian-operated, battery-powered tug unit that is designed to push rolling loads of up to 40 000kg. For the paper industry, a bespoke reel mover attachment has been designed by Nu-Star to ensure that the unit can push a wide variety of different circumference paper reels. The unit is completely self-contained and there are no trailing wires, cables or air-lines. Adrian Virgin, plant engineer, comments The Power Pusher is very easy to use and eliminates the manual effort usually required to move the reels. Its small size and pedestrian operation mean it is much safer than a forklift.
