For stability November 1st 2003 Available from Boddingtons Electrical, Bodstop is a ladder stabiliser that comes in four sizes and consists of an aluminium T-piece bonded into an 11mm vulcanised rubber base, complete with 2mm tread top and bottom for extra grip.
It allows the weight of the ladder and its user to be spread over a larger area. It is said to be stable at inclinations of 3:1 and above and prevents bottom and sideways slip.
Bodstop has been tested by Leeds Polytechnic on various surfaces, such as wet and dry floors, wet grass, painted concrete sprinkled with fine sanding, polished floors and so on.
