November 1st 2005 The RM5 Resource Module from Scientific Technologies Inc is a microprocessor-controlled, multifunction relay that allows up to three light curtains and muting sensors to be connected.
Providing two normally open and one normally closed force-guided relay outputs, a variety of different light curtain and muting sensor configurations are possible, allowing the creation of sophisticated mute sensor/light curtain sequences that are said to be especially suitable for conveyor applications. The RM5 can be programmed to allow the light curtain to govern a machine's production cycle, so the operator need not manually initiate a machine at the start of every cycle.
