Equipped to save a life November 1st 2007 According to a receiving hospital in Milton Keynes, the life of a female shopper who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest was saved through the practical first aid skills of a shopping centre security team and the immediate availability of a Laerdal HeartStart FR2 defibrillator. Russell Macey, security manager at thecentre:mk in Milton Keynes where the incident took place, says "We have had three Laerdal HeartStart defibrillators on site here for about four years and this was thankfully the first time we've had to use one. However, thanks to our training, it was simple to operate and proved to be worth its weight in gold." Training is simplified by the defibrillator's user-friendly audible and visual prompts.
