Vibration management May 1st 2006 Vibration White Finger (VWF) is the most common form of Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) syndrome and with recent Health & Safety legislation, businesses need to be pro-active in monitoring and assessment of vibration levels in work.
Engineering Utilities is offering an advisory service to help. The company has invested in a Castle vibration meter to measure vibration levels to help it advise customers on solutions for grinding and polishing vibration problems.
The service includes assessment of current machines, information on new machines and an on-site evaluation visit. The company also stocks the latest PFERD autobalance mop adaptors for use in machines and hand pieces with a 12 mm collet and a maximum speed for 6000 rpm. The mop adaptors reduce vibrations from traditional mops and wheels.
Further measures to reduce vibrations in the work place can be found with Plantex Hemp fibre discs.
In addition to reducing health and safety issues, the discs provide increased contact area and generate less heat and noise.
