Brigade picks ATEX torch
September 1st 2004

London Fire Brigade is the latest unit to select Wolf ATEX safety torches for its fire fighters.

The range has now been sold to more than half the major UK fire brigades who use primary cell safety hand torches.

Prior to its selection, the Wolf ATEX TR-24+ torch had undergone a rigorous user evaluation at a number of fire stations. Gary Hopkins from the LFB research and development group, comments “Our evaluation report identified that the TR-24+ is a high quality, user-friendly product, easy to switch and particularly resistant to damage.” The quality of the beam from the torch was judged to perform well in a variety of smoke density trials.

As well as boosting safety, a low battery indicator prevents batteries being discarded needlessly.
