EXPLOSION-PROTECTED PLUGS September 1st 2004 A new generation of explosionprotected plugs and sockets has been introduced by R Stahl.
The SolConeX series builds on the company’s CES series and, together, they offer a range from 16 to 125A, with approval for use in Zones 1, 2 and 22.
Key to the SolConeX range is a reliable switch-disconnector that comes with a large, easily visible switching lever. Plugging and unplugging is easily and safely carried out in position 0, removing the need for potentially damaging twisting and pulling.
With IP66 protection, and a broad ambient operating range, the new devices are suitable for tough industrial use. Plugs and sockets come in standard versions, as well as those designed for intrinsically safe circuits. The plugs are said to guarantee IP66 protection in any application position, even when not plugged in.
The company believes SolConeX to be the first series of plugs and sockets to include up to two optional, retro-fittable auxiliary contacts. More articles from R Stahl GmbH: |
