Higgins Homes has provided extra safety for employees building a five-storey structure in Romford by installing SGBs new edge protection system. Extraguard triple wire fence panels are said to provide maximum security and comply with the new requirements of the European (British) Standard for edge protection, prEN13374. Quickly erected J-lock post fixing contributes to ease of installation, while a universal fence post and a range of fixing components make the system suitable for many different site applications. For the Romford site, about 400m of Extraguard was supplied. Each panel measures 2.6m wide by 1.15m high. It was installed on the exposed leading edges of the concrete frame development. Vic Slade, senior site manager, comments Extraguard is proving to be an excellent product. We were surprised at how lightweight the individual panels are. The system is easy to assemble and lock into position.
