Noise audit July 1st 2008 The Industrial Noise & Vibration
Centre describes its new noise
management audit as the action
alternative to conventional
assessment.
This new approach is a
benchmark technical review of
company programmes and
policies. It generates a detailed,
pragmatic 'action plan' (including
noise control options) that can
substantially reduce the cost of
compliance and may render the
process self-financing.
Typical elements of the audit
include: an engineering evaluation
of noise control options and costs
(which INVC says is almost
invariably neglected in
assessments); certification that PPE
can be used for long-term risk
management; 'Buy Quiet'
purchasing policy; template
documentation and training
programmes.
