Puts the brake on noise plant May 1st 2007 Problems caused by noisy testing
plant at a Wirral-based engineering
firm have been overcome by
Kimpton Acoustics.
The Faiveley Transport factory
manufactures brake control
systems for the rail industry and
uses a test cell for critical checks.
Relocation of an assembly line
adjacent to the test cell presented
potentially disturbing noise
emissions for personnel, with a
noise survey of test equipment
indicating levels of 104dB(A).
Kimpton Acoustics supplied a
set of high performance acoustic
double doors with dual glazed
windows and heavy-duty
ironmongery. An independent
noise survey carried out after the
installation indicated that the
potential noise level of 104dB(A)
had been attenuated to the
predicted background noise level
of 60dB(A), well within health and
safety regulations.
Bob Jones at Kimpton says "Our
bespoke acoustic doors provided
an immediate solution and the
installation was completed with
minimum disruption." More articles from Kimpton Acoustics: |
