Self-financing noise control March 1st 2007 According to INVC, a review of the noise control options across Cadbury UK sites has shown that not only could half the sites be deregulated to reduce substantially the number of personnel wearing PPE and improve working conditions, but that the noise control programme will pay for itself. As part of a commitment to implementing worldclass health and safety standards, Cadbury has taken a pro-active approach to the new noise regulations. Instead of repeating conventional risk assessments, the company commissioned a country-wide noise control audit. Developed by INVC, this engineering review generates a definitive noise control cost/benefit analysis using modern technology as the basis for planning a cost effective noise control programme – in Cadbury's case, a programme that will pay for itself. Moreover, INVC says the new technology will avoid the operational problems linked to hygiene, access and maintenance associated with some conventional noise control measures. A technical note on the Noise Control Audit process and a pragmatic guide to best practice under the new regulations, are available free from INVC. |
