the 'Assessor' Models 83 and 84
are full octave
analysers that have
just 5 buttons, each of
which has a single
function.
This has been
achieved by the
clever use of the
internal computer and
by dedicating the
instruments to a
single task, not by
reducing performance.
There is no menu
structure so the instruments can
be used with little learning time
needed.
The new models are designed
to measure noise in the industrial
environment, allowing employers
to comply with EU and HSE
regulations. Both
twin-channel
instruments
measure all the
metrics required by
these regulations
and allow noise to
be categorised in
terms of frequency
to allow accurate
selection of hearing
protection.
Models 83 and
84 not only give the
formal metrics, but give a read-out
of LEP,d or LEX, 8h.
