Sound check
March 1st 2007

E.A.R and Peltor have developed a simple sound level meter that complements their Optime Alert system by establishing which colour code the user needs to follow.

Simply deploy the meter at the employee's workstation and let it sit until the display has stabilised.

This will indicate the average noise level in that area and the type of protection required. The display indicates the time the unit has been active in 1h increments to a maximum of an 8h working day.

The meter is accurate to ±1dB.

Optime Alert uses a logicallycoloured classification to simplify selection. The user finds out what the noise level is, then looks at the icons to establish which band (RNR) the noise level falls into.

He/she can then choose from the wide range of products available from E.A.R and Peltor, ensuring that the relevant symbol is shown.
