ATEX flameproof glands
November 1st 2006

Kopex International has announced that its HAM, HAMM and HAMS ranges of ATEX flameproof glands are approved for use in Zones 1 and 2 hazardous area classifications. They are designed for use in conjunction with all Kopex Liquid Tight flexible metallic conduits. Kopex can offer a combination of glands and conduits which are third party approved for such applications, rather than merely self-certified.

Available in brass, metal coated and stainless steel versions, these ATEX flameproof glands are essential for use where an explosive atmosphere is, or is expected, to be present. This includes areas such as the petrolchemical industries, offshore oil and gas and the nuclear industry. Approved for areas where either gas or dust may be present. ATEX glands have been both EExd flameproofed and have EEXe safety protection certified.

The glands are also Bassefa certified and UL listed.

The gland operates within a temperature range of -60°C to +80°C and has a T6 temperature classification of +85°C, the maximum temperature that the surface of the gland will attain at an ambient temperature of +40°C. IP66 ingress protection is also provided.
