Downdraught bench
January 1st 2006

Andy Thornton, manufacturer of reproduction furniture, has extended its AirBench installation from WorkPoint Environments.

The company uses the downdraught bench for hand and powered sanding and 'ageing' of timber items, particularly chairs, where the uniform suction across the entire surface provides extraction of dust even at 1m above the AirBench.

The integral fan and filters make the AirBench self-contained. It needs only a standard 13A connection, and maintenance is limited to occasional cleaning of filters. Filter change is required at about 12-month internals.

No further respiratory protection is required when working at the AirBench.
