Extraction unit installed
July 1st 2004

A W120 Nonflam wet dust extraction unit from Carter-Thorne has been installed at the Milton Keynes plant of THK, manufacturer of linear motion systems.

The Nonflam removes dust created by the cutting of toughened steel rails that are used to carry the companys caged ball linear guides.

The collectors use a water-filled tank through which dust and residues are drawn by an impeller fan. They are available with a range of fans precisely rated for individual applications to 7.5kw in cases where it is necessary to remove sticky or oily dust from the metal being treated.

Particles drawn in by the fan sink to the base of the tank where they may be removed easily by raking into a container. Automatic sludge removal systems are also available. Water level in the unit is automatically controlled.

Nonflam units, available in a variety of sizes, may be sited at any distance from the grinding equipment, both inside and out.
