For hygienic pressure relief

Elfab has developed a pressure relief system for use in aseptic and hygienic process conditions.

Hygienic Opti-Gards feature nonfragmenting, reverse-acting bursting disc with a smooth, uninterrupted surface finish to reduce contamination and maximise stream sterilisation and clean-in-place procedures.

The system fits directly between ISO2852 standard food industry couplings and clamp fittings. It is supplied with an ATEX-approved Integral Flo-Tel burst-detection device. This non-invasive, magnetically-actuated, re-usable detection system is said to ensure fail-safe detection while minimising the risk of spurious alarms.

With a performance tolerance of 5% across a range of burst pressures and a 95% operating ratio, Opti-Gard is said to offer the highest performance characteristic available for liquid, gas or vapour applications.
