Added safety March 1st 2006 Although fire within a generator enclosure is rare, when it is sited in a building or area vulnerable to malicious damage, precautions are advisable.
A new fire shutdown system from Scorpion Power Systems provides additional safety by incorporating a temperature sensor within the generator enclosure linked to its control system.
Should the sensor detect that the inside of the enclosure has become uncharacteristically hot, it will send a signal to the control system processor, which immediately recognises the fault and shuts down the fuel supply to the engine.
The sensor is set at 90°C so that nuisance tripping does not occur during normal operation. More articles from Scorpion Power Systems: |
