Shroud added
May 1st 2007

Pilz Automation Technology has introduced a new version of its PITestop emergency stop pushbutton with a rugged shroud.

This prevents accidental actuation of the emergency stop switch and enables padlocks to be fitted to prevent the machine or process being restarted.

Two models are available: one for surface-mounting; the other preinstalled on a junction box. Both have a shroud that extends to the full height of the pushbutton and wraps around, with two cut-outs to ensure easy actuation when needed.

The pushbutton is the twist-torelease type but, before releasing, it can be secured in the 'off' position using one or two longshank padlocks.
