Air flow control
September 1st 2008

Parker Hannifin has introduced a range of air fuses that protect operators of pneumatic equipment from the hazards associated with broken compressed-air hose. The Moduflex AirGuard system enables plant managers to comply with increasingly stringent guidelines on pneumatic equipment.

The Moduflex AirGuard system ensures the main air flow is immediately shut off if the volume of air exceeds a set value. The value is pre-set to allow normal air consumption when using normal air tools.

An integral bleed hole allows some air to flow through, enabling the line pressure to automatically reset the AirGuard once the line break is repaired.

Parker Hannifin says the devices components can be easily fitted with no adjustment necessary, providing tamperproof protection.

The system is compatible with hose, tube or pipe sizes from 1/4" – 2", with a maximum inlet pressure of up to 35 bar.

Components are high visibility yellow, with stainless steel versions available.
