Cut-resistant gloves afford comfort and durability
January 1st 2005

Anew range of cut-resistant gloves has been introduced by Ansell. The range incorporates Intercept technology that, the company says, can yield knitted gloves up to half as thick and a third lighter while offering an even higher resistance to cuts than standard Kevlar gloves.

Intercept Technology results from the combination of Du Pont’s yarn and Ansell’s knitting technique.

For production and assembly workers, wearing thinner protective gloves can decrease hand fatigue and improve comfort, dexterity and productivity.

The Vantage range consists of four work gloves. The lightweight 70-750 is said to offer superior tactility with its ultra thin knit. The versatile medium weight 70-760 affords comfort and durability, while the heavier weight 70-770 is intended for use where repetitive cut risks are concentrated in a precise area. The 70-780 combines strength in design with good grip. All ensure a cut resistance of EN Level 5.

Intercept Technology has also been integrated into the knit of the HyFlex 11-501 CR+, a dipped glove featuring a foam nitrile coated palm. The HyFlex is intended for the same handling and assembly applications as the Vantage range, while providing extra grip in dry or slightly oily environments. It ensures a cut resistance of EN Level4. All gloves incorporating Intercept Technology are resistant to heat and molten splashes.
