Grip rating
September 1st 2007 Comasec International Group,
owner of Marigold Industrial and
Comasec brands, now provides a
comfort and grip evaluation rating
for its glove range.
The company has developed a
series of scientific tests which
mean that glove purchasers will be
able to incorporate the comfort and
grip requirements of wearers in
addition to their physical protection
requirements (EN standards) when
looking for hand protection.
Comfort has been evaluated by
taking a number of test methods to
establish different criteria, including
dexterity, thickness of the glove,
elasticity, thermal capacity,
perspiration and skin contact
parameters. These standards arethen applied to a statistical method
to set up a composite index
allowing a classification from a
comfort prospective.
To measure grip, the company
has developed a test method
within its Malaysian manufacturing
plant using the well-known physical
methodology of the Coefficients of
Friction.
