Handbook focuses on heat and flame PPE September 1st 2007 JOIFF, an organisation for
emergency services management,
has published a PPE handbook for
people who select heat-and-flame
protective clothing and equipment
which JoIFF member, DuPont has
printed and is distributing in
conjunction with the organisation.
The handbook, called PPE to
protect against heat and flame,
contains information on all aspects
of heat and flame protective
clothing, from risk assessment, the
EU certification system, heat stress
management and safety standards,
through to garment design and
selection, sizing and care and
maintenance.
Alec Feldman, representative of
JOIFF, commented at a recent
DuPont seminar "This handbook
has been drawn up to provide
JOIFF members with information
and background detail to enable
them to make informed decisions
as to the most suitable type of PPE
