PPE + seminars on occupational asthma
September 1st 2011 Awide range of PPE will be
showcased by 3M at Health &
Safety – North.Visitors will
be among the first to see the new 3M
Aura 9300+ disposable respirators,
which are an evolution of 3M 9300
series respirators incorporating a
technically-advanced filter material
and several new design features. They
are suitable for most industries where
workers require protection against
particulate hazards. 3M will be
distributing a limited number of
product samples at the event.
Alan McArthur of the 3M Safety
Solutions Division will be delivering
two seminars on 'Occupational
Asthmagens in the Spotlight' at
14.30pm on 5th October and at
10.20am on 6th October.
He explains: "Occupational
asthmagens are a potential hazard in
many working environments and
can cause occupational asthma.
Unlike pre-existing asthma,
occupational asthma can often be
cured if detected early* and it is
therefore crucial to recognise what
the risk factors are and how they can
be safeguarded against."
The seminars will provide
information on the different
occupational asthmagens in the
workplace and offer guidance on
suitable RPE.
