Rapid smoke detection

The suitability of the Stratos aspirating smoke detection system from AirSense Technology for the protection of high bay warehouses has been demonstrated in a project featuring 12 Stratos-HSSD detectors installed in Project Annona, a multi-million pound food distribution centre for Unilever UK Foods.

WT Parker, an award winning electrical contractor, appointed Daemon Fire and Security to carry out the installation. Daemon Fire specified the installation of twelve Stratos-HSSD aspirating smoke detectors, incorporating the AirSense Technology manufactured Apollo signalling protocol interface cards, enabling the Stratos detectors to seamlessly integrate with the site fire detection system. Reaction time to the presence of very small quantities of smoke was tested and the alarm sounded within two minutes.
