Keeping cables in their place

When Colin Carstairs, wirecloth operations co-ordinator of United Wire, was asked to track down some self-retracting reels that would stand up to the rigors of an industrial environment, his first port of call was Nederman.

Carstairs was aware of Nedermans workshop and personal protection products as United Wire has one of its fume extraction units installed in another production department.

Explaining the need for the self-retracting reels, he says It wasnt that we had had any accidents or anything like that, but we operate at a high level of safety just like any other industrial organisation, so it is an established policy to seek to eliminate any potential hazards that we identify.

Six months later and four Nederman units have transformed the situation, with trailing cables stowed out of the way, ensuring a safe, uncluttered working area.
