Training in manual handling May 1st 2007 Health and Safety training
company Praxis42 is urging
companies to wise up to Manual
Handling Regulations or face
potential prosecution.
The company, which provides a
range of training and eLearning
courses, believes too many
companies are either unaware of,
or ignore, their basic legal duties
towards manual handling.
Dr Gary Mason, Praxis42
director, comments "If a company's
employees have to lift, carry, lower,
push or pull loads, then the Manual
Handling Regulations will apply.
This means employers must
undertake a risk assessment and
must also ensure that their
employees know about the risks
associated with manual handling,
such as identifying obvious risks
and hazards and knowing how to
deal with them."
Praxis42 has updated its Manual
Handling course to follow the
HSE's Guide and Notes to ensure
organisations are compliant with
Manual Handling Regulations. The
course can be delivered online
when and where it is needed. It
offers the further benefit of a
learning management system
which records all training events
and makes them available to view
and manage electronically. More articles from Praxis 42 Limited: |
