Fall arrest system lets operatives move freely

At Classic Couverture's distribution plant in Liverpool, Safesite's Hercule horizontal fall arrest system has been installed to provide a permanent fall arrest system for operatives who need to access the top of tankers in order to fill them with chocolate.

Safe access was already being provided by a gantry, but the problem was how to allow the workers to walk safely along the top of the tankers without restricting movement.

Hercule's enclosed track system incorporates a lightweight trolley with sealed bearings. It allows workers to move freely and operate hands-free along the length of the vehicles.

The trolley mechanism has a further benefit in that it prevents the pendulum effect should an operative fall.
