Helping to prevent 'Shattered Lives' March 1st 2008 The latest campaign to be
launched by the Health and
Safety Executive kicked off in
February with the aim of reducing
the number of slips, trips or fall
accidents at work.
Ladderstore.com will be a key
training partner during the
Shattered Lives campaign,
supporting the HSE's focus on
competent use of ladders within
the workplace.
Tony Almonds, communications
manager for Shattered Lives,
comments "Between 2006 and
2007 there were 45 deaths and
3409 major injuries as a result of
falls from height. Such tragedy
often results in 'shattered lives' for
those involved, their families and
their co-workers.
"An accident at work can affect
many people and anything the
HSE and its campaign partners,
such as Ladderstore, can do to
reduce these numbers is
undoubtedly of great benefit."
Ladderstore is offering half-day
training courses at special rates
during the campaign, which ends
on 4th April. These can take place
at a company's workplace and will
cost from £599.
Discussing the course content,
Gail Houslea, managing director of
Ladderstore, says "We will cover
such areas as the right ladder for
the job, its condition, correct ladder
set-up and using a ladder safely –
in fact everything an HSE or local
authority inspector would expect a
company to know."
To highlight 'Shattered Lives',
Ladderstore will be giving visitors
to its website, www.ladderstore.com,
the opportunity to win a free
training course. More articles from Wardworth Ltd T/a Ladderstore.com: |
