Rescue kit
September 1st 2008

Safesite's new Rescue Kit can help companies comply with their legal duty to plan for emergencies and rescue when it comes to work at height. The kit comprises a dedicated rescue hub and rope grab device that attaches to the casualty's existing line.

When the rope grab device reaches the casualty, the rescuer gives it a gently tug and it will lock onto the victim's line.

The geared rescue hub, which has been connected to the original, and if possible another anchorage point, can then be used by the rescuer to lift the casualty slightly so that they can be released from their anchorage point. The casualty is now supported by the rescue hub and rope grab and can be raised or lowered to safety in a controlled way using the hub.

A competent first aider must be at ground level.
