Slip risk?
March 1st 2006

At this year's Safety & Health Expo, Spectrum Metrology will be demonstrating how to quantify the slip risk factor of flooring using the Surtronic Duo, a portable surface roughness instrument made by Taylor Hobson.

The use of a surface roughness meter in conjunction with the materials available from the HSE, allows health and safety personnel to make an objective decision about the safety of their flooring.

For ease of use, the device splits into two parts, allowing the measuring head to be placed on the flooring and the measurement to be made via a remote control.

Results can then be fed into the HSE SAT software to provide an indication of the level of slip risk.
