CSGNE cuts risk of suspension trauma March 1st 2005 The Sala range of height safety equipment from CSGNE has been expanded with two new devices to increase the safety and comfort of workers operating above the ground.
After a fall and while awaiting rescue, a worker can suffer from the effects of suspension trauma that can lead to unconsciousness, serious injury or even death. Sala’s new Suspension Trauma Safety Strap allows the fallen worker to stand in their harness while they wait for rescue, relieving the pressure on their legs.
The system is compact, lightweight and can be attached quickly to most brands and styles of body harness. It comes as a set of two small zipper packs, one loop and one hook. Weighing just 91g, the safety strap is 51mm wide by 38mm deep, so the wearer will hardly know that it’s there.
Also new, Sala’s Delta Pad is a universal shoulder and back comfort pad that can be attached quickly to most brands of harness.
It is designed to provide extra comfort through the neck, shoulder and back area and, as the pad holds the shape of the harness, it makes it easier to put on and reduces the risk of incorrect fitting.
Built-in lanyard keepers on each shoulder help eliminate a possible trip hazard. Should the lanyard become snagged, the keepers pop open to free the user and allow them to keep their balance. More articles from Capital Safety Group Ltd: |
