Lord Hunt, the health and safety minister visted the BLMA stand at Heath&Safety Expo and applauded the work of the British Ladder Manufacturers' Association in launching a series of WAHR-related initiatives aimed at improving safety and the continuing promotion of best practices.

In particular he singled out the introduction of the BLMA's nationally accredited training scheme for users, supervisors and managers. The training scheme is available through a wide-ranging network of accredited training centres. Upon completion every delegate receives a certificate and BLMA photocard as proof of competence.

The minister was also shown the BLMA risk assessment card a handy, practical guide for use on site and the newly introduced BLMA ladder inspection record that provides a visual record of the inspection status of a ladder or step-ladder, in line with the requirements of WAHR.
