FREE GUIDE

The HSE has published a draft of the new Noise at Work Regulations incorporating the amendments of the latest EU directive. An important change is the fall in the upper action level from 90 to 85dBA.

This is a large reduction and one that is expected to impose a heavy burden on industry; the HSE estimates that the changes will cost UK companies up to 633m in the first 10 years alone.

However, the cost can be reduced substantially according to a new guide available from Advanced Noise Solutions. Using a series of case studies, it illustrates that cost savings of about 80% can be achieved in many cases. The guide also explains the main changes to the regulations.
