Total training offers greater support September 1st 2008 The addition of NEBOSH
qualifications to its offering
prompted the British Safety
Council to commission an in-depth
study of opinions with leading
industry advocates in health and
safety. The aim was to understand
what health and safety
professionals really want from a
training provider.
Many of the negative
experiences of training stemmed
from perceptions. Professionals
found some courses to be too
intensive, and standards were felt
to be too demanding and
academic. There were also
concerns about the seeming lack
of continuing support or follow-up.
The BSC will now provide
continuing support to those who
have taken training. Support will be
offered with a personalised
mentoring programme. Candidates
will get support and guidance from
the moment a course is booked,
through examinations to the
transition back into the workplace. More articles from British Safety Council: |
