Inhibits scale September 1st 2005 Tackling limescale problems with a Kal-Guard+ scale inhibitor from Watermatic has helped reduce maintenance costs and downtime at Imperial Tobacco’s Nottingham plant, while maintaining high levels of quality control.
The system has achieved a payback of less than four months and helps minimise environmental impact.
Scale build up on spray nozzles of a re-hydrating unit used to take the company about 3h/week to remove. Since the Kal-Guard+ unit was installed there is only an occasional slight residue of soft limescale that is easily wiped away during routine cleaning.
The device is based on Watermatic’s zinc anode electrolytic design and has electronic controls to precisely match levels of zinc to the hardness of the water. More articles from Watermatic: |
