CONVEYOR BELT CURVE July 1st 2004
The new Belt Curve+ from Interroll is said to offer advantages over previous generations of belt curves at no extra cost.
Such curves provide direction changes within tight spaces, but to be reliable they must have good belt tracking and long belt life. The new belt curve has positive head drive, guaranteeing reliable transport at up to 2.5m/sec for the heavy duty version and 1.5m/sec for the lighter model.
The belt is kept on track by spring-loaded castors fitted inside the upper section of the outer radius side frame, and low set castors inside the lower section. These absorb the lateral forces on the belt generated through the curve. The no-slippage, positive drive relies on drive teeth underneath the belt that interlock with the drive sprocket in a concept similar to a timing belt. This allows a conveyor height of 180mm, low belt tension, long service life and quick, easy maintenance. More articles from Interroll Automation: |
