Two booklets are available free of charge from The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) and can be downloaded from the organisation’s website.

The Key Messages booklet highlights the importance of manufacturing and outlines what the organisation would like the Government to do in the following areas: investment, tax burdens on business, regulatory burdens, encouraging R&D, exporting, raising the profile of engineering and manufacuring, and skills and training.

The second booklet, Basic Facts, is an annual publication that provides a snapshot of the industry from a statistical perspective.

The MTA, organiser of MACH, the UK’s manufacturing technologies exhibition held every two years, has announced that in 2006 it will be co-located with three more exhibitions: Electrex 2006; Airtech, a one-stop shop for visitors wanting to find the latest in air power technology; and Drives and Controls.
