Rock mineral wool is known for its excellent fire insulation properties and, having been tested in accordance with BS 476-4: 1970 (1984), it is classified as noncombustible.

Knauf Insulation’s Rocksilk PyroDuct is made from rock mineral wool and tested in accordance with BS 476-24: 1987. It has been certified as providing steel ventilation ductwork – type A and B – with up to 2h fire protection and is just one of a range of HVAC insulation products available from the company.
