Improved cleaning May 1st 2004
Railway stock refurbishment company Brush Traction reports an improvement in cleaning quality following the installation of an ultrasonic cleaning system from Kerry Ultrasonics.
The Pulsatron UCR1500 is being used at the companys Loughborough site to remove brake dust and general debris from pcbs that form part of traction propulsion systems.
The tank is fitted with a Neptune dual-frequency generator controller, enabling ultrasonics to operate at either 35 or 70kHz. The higher frequency protects delicate components without sacrificing cleaning efficiency.
Following an ultrasonic clean in an aqueous solution of CP10, pcbs undergo two rinse stages: first in tap water; then in deionised water from a handheld spray. More articles from Kerry Ultrasonics Ltd: |
