Lining offensive solves RAF pipe problem November 1st 2004
Emergency draincare specialist, Dyno-Rod, has provided a cost effective drainage solution to the RAF Marham airbase in Norfolk, using special lining technologies.
The project involved repairing 25 rainwater down-pipes in hangars that were leaking and causing the electric systems to short.
Replacement of the pipes had been contemplated, but was considered too expensive and would have caused too much disruption at the base.
Dyno-Rod’s solution involved lining the pipes using the Brawoliner ‘No Dig’ lining system.
Using specialist equipment that included a prefabricated launching tower, the Brawoliner was fed into the pipe using pressurised air, the inversion speed being continuously monitored by a Dyno-Rod engineer.
The even distribution of pressure and the flexibility of the specially designed sock allowed the Brawoliner lining to be used for the job because the pipes contain bends. Brawoliner negotiates these without folding or wrinkling of the sock. The lining is under constant pressure until it has hardened. More articles from Dyno Services: |
