Installation of Gestra MK Series steam traps has led to a petroleum additives company in the USA receiving a prestigious Energy Efficiency Program Award from the American Chemistry Council.
The ACC recognises member companies who make significant energy efficiency improvements.
By installing Gestra MK Series ‘zero loss’ steam traps, the plant made savings in the first 18 months of operation in excess of 718 000 lb of steam, amounting to cost savings of some £412 000.
MK Series traps use a thermodynamic membrane to sense temperature differences between steam and condensate, instead of using steam energy to operate the trap mechanism.
